Case Studies
These real-life case studies illustrate how human surveyors failed to identify wildlife features and live species during construction and reclamation activities. The extraordinary capabilities of detection dogs significantly minimize the possibility of any wildlife or feature being missed. Companies will no longer be concerned about unreported wildlife habitats, reducing costly time, and reportable incidents.

An oil and gas company was building an oil lease in grizzly bear territory. A wildlife sweep was conducted to rule out any wildlife in the area.
Human surveyors were used to do the sweep. Unfortunately, a grizzly bear den was missed, and construction began with a bulldozer destroying the den, which contained the bear inside.

A reclamation company was starting phase 3 on an abandoned oil lease. Wildlife sweeps were completed, and monitoring was ongoing. A bobcat was moving material when it accidentally ran over a one-horned lizard, an at-risk species listed as endangered with SARS.
